Managed Care Authorizations

 

Managed Care Authorizations can be logged for a selected patient by highlighting the patient and clicking on Actions for Highlighted Patient at the top right of the main screen of the program.

Actions for Highlighted Patient > Managed Care Authorizations

 

You can add authorizations for visits or procedures.

Click Insert to add a new managed care authorization.

Select the Type of authorization, either Visit or Procedure.

If entered for visits, select VISIT as the type, enter a Date range for the authorization and the Ins Code for the company authorizing the visits. Enter the Auth# and Unique ID if applicable and the # of visits Authorized.

You can also enter an optional Note which will print on the Managed Care report.

Now when you add a visit for this patient you will have the opportunity to select it as one of the visits used towards this authorization. If you answer yes to include the visit the amount of authorizations remaining will reduce accordingly.

Managed Care Authorizations by Procedure.

Actions for Highlighted Patient > Managed Care Authorizations > Procedure

 

 

If entered for procedure(s), select PROCEDURE as the type; enter a Date range for the authorization and the Ins Code for the company authorizing the visits. Enter the Auth# and Unique ID if applicable.

Then Insert the Procedure(s) connected with this Managed Care Authorization and enter the number of times that procedure is authorized. Click OK to save your work.

NOTE: You can add as many procedures as you want based on the authorization.

You can also enter an optional Note which will print on the Managed Care report.

Now when you add this procedure(s) for the patient you will have the opportunity to select it as one of the procedure(s) towards this authorization. If you answer yes to include the procedure, the amount of authorizations remaining will reduce accordingly.

NOTE: You can print Authorization for an individual patient from the managed care screen and print a report or Managed Care Authorizations in Reports, Administrative Reports, Managed Care Authorizations.
